Mission of the Role
The Lien Specialist owns the full lifecycle of personal-injury lien cases—from referral intake through settlement payment and lien release—ensuring attorneys, patients, providers, and billing teams stay aligned while protecting clinic revenue and maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced coordination environments and enjoys managing complex case workflows with accuracy and accountability.

Within 30 days
- Independently triage referrals and schedule lien patients within 24 business hours when feasible
- Ensure lien agreements are completed before treatment begins
- Maintain accurate ECW and CRM documentation on all assigned cases
Within 60 days
- Track policy limits, UM/UIM, and liability requests with timely follow-ups
- Execute appointment confirmation workflows with minimal missed confirmations
- Support provider note locking and billing packet preparation within expected timelines
Within 90 days
- Manage assigned lien cases from intake through billing submission with minimal escalation
- Maintain strong communication with attorneys and referring sources
- Support settlement tracking and lien closure documentation accurately and on time

Responsibilities
You will:
- Coordinate personal-injury patient referrals from intake through settlement closure
- Secure attorney confirmations and completed lien agreements before treatment
- Request and track policy limits, UM/UIM, and liability status
- Execute appointment confirmations and manage reschedule/no-show workflows
- Maintain accurate documentation in ECW and CRM
- Support provider note locking and billing packet preparation
- Submit billing updates to attorneys after visits
- Track settlement timelines and follow up until payment is received
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant communication and records
- Support reporting, audits, and workflow tracking metrics
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years experience in one of the following:
- Medical liens
- Personal-injury coordination
- Medical billing
- Legal administrative support
- Strong documentation and coordination skills
Preferred
- Experience using ECW or similar EMR
- CRM workflow experience
- Familiarity with CPT / ICD-10 basics
- Personal-injury terminology knowledge (policy limits, liability, UM/UIM)
- Bilingual Spanish
Work Environment
- Full-time, onsite role (Monday–Friday)
- Clinical office setting
- Occasional coordination outside standard hours with attorneys/patients
- Possible local travel for attorney liaison coordination
